Introduction

The “Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA)” Project, Phase-II, one of the activities is Training, as part of this activity, several non-formal courses in Information Security (Diploma/PG-Diploma/ Certificate) by C-DAC/NIELIT Centres and short term training programs (1/2 weeks) in information security organised for students, faculty, professionals by ISEA Networked institutes.

Under training of Government officials (GOT) are segregated into direct training programs (2/3/5 days duration), self-paced e-learning/Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) programs, training of master trainers and activities assigned to National Coordination Centre (GOT). These activities are implemented by 13 implementing agencies comprising 6 centres each of CDAC & NIELIT and ERNET.

GOT Objectives

The target is to cover approximately 13,170 officials in five years.

• The various Training objectives under ISEA Phase II are
  • Government official Training in direct mode
    • 2 day basic program
    • 3 day advanced level programs providing hands on experience.
    • One week advanced level program(s)
• Government official Training in Virtual modethrough Multilingual course material / VTE and launching e-Learning courses.
• Training of Master Trainers

Besides this, an Online Training of Select Government Personnel of Union Ministries / Departments in Cyber Security:

• Generic Online Training Course on Cyber Security - 6-8 hrs. duration with both theoretical and practical components.
• Online Foundation Course on Cyber Security - Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) through experts covering various topics of cyber security interspersed with case studies, assignments, hands-on using Virtual Training Environment (VTE)/ e-labs (duration 40 hrs.), etc. and self-paced learning material of around 20 hrs. duration.

Online Training program in Cyber Security (Generic/Foundations) organized for officials of Central Ministry/Departments. Virtual Labs and repository of e-learning courses (www.isea-got.in)
